- Convened five meetings to assess potential collaborators’ interest in pursuing a community-based participatory research capacity building and training initiative.
- Established a Steering Committee.
- Established a goals for Year 2.
- Secured an intern from DePaul University Dept of Health Sciences to assist with community assessment transcription and data entry.
- Doubled coalition participation. The coalition is now comprised of 44 volunteers, compared to ~21 in December 2013. Members reflect Chicagoland community based organizations (8), healthcare facilities (6), community members (2), universities (2), community coalitions (2), independent consultants (2), foundations (1), and government commission (1). Volunteers participate in a variety of capacities, including providing staff time, student support, information, and resources (i.e., meeting space, meeting equipment, and refreshments).
Looking into 2014:
- In January of 2014, CLARO posted a blog featured in the American Evaluation Association's 365blog http://aea365.org/blog/.
- CLARO hosted a roundtable discussion at the Community-Campus Partnerships for Health Conference in April 2014 to discuss our efforts, goals and community assessment activities.
